Tigers Host Annual Steemer Showcase

Springfield, OH- Wittenberg returned to Springfield for the annual Steemer Showcase including 22 schools across all three NCAA Divisions. The Tigers fared well across the field, placing top five in 18 events including four first-place finishes.

Highlights- For the men, Zeke Bennett took a first-place finish in the 400m race and a new school record with a time of 48.26. Also claiming another indoor school record for the Tigers was Ian McCandlish in the 800m run with a time of 1:52.48 for a fourth-place finish. Also with a top five performance was Riley Payne in the 60m hurdles and time of 8.67. Conor Kolka posted a 15:02.94 in the 5000m run and a fifth-place finish.

Competing in the men's 4x400 relay was Grayson Ring, Ian McCandlish, Cameron Elliott, and Zeke Bennett with a first-place finish and time of 3:21.04.

On the women's side Delaney Tackett had the top finish for the Tigers with a first-place finish in the 500m dash and time of 1:22.82. Placing in the top five were Meghan Frazier in the 60m dash with a time of 7.92 and Kiki Krohmer in the 5000m run at 18:48.13.

In field events, the Red & White took second in the women's shot put with Aidan Orth throwing 11.72m with Emily Doerman just behind in fourth at 11.50m. Picking up three top five spots in the pole vault were Tiffany Hix with a third-place finish at 3.09m, Jeremy Watson at 4.01m, and Sam Callinan at 3.86m. The men were able to go one and two in the high jump with Grayson Ring taking first with a height of 1.94m and Justin Norris going 1.89m. On the women's side Taylor Weiss was able to take a fourth-place finish at 1.56m in the high jump and fifth in the triple jump at 10.69m. Lastly, JJ Weisenberger took home a third-place spot in the long jump going 6.77m.
