Wittenberg Dominates Fighting Scots Invitational

Wooster, OH- Wittenberg headed to the College of Wooster for the Fighting Scots Invitational where the women picked up a first-place overall finish with 151 points, taking down four NCAC competitors while the men took home a third-place team finish with 79 points.

On the women's side Zora Shakhan picked up a first-place win in the 60m with a time of 8.14, following closely with a third-place time of 8.16 was Lindsey Magoteaux for a combined 16 points. Magoteaux picked up six more points in the 200m with another third-place finish and a time of 27.95. Meghan Frazier grabbed another first-place finish for the Tigers in the 400m, crossing the line at 1:03.18. Not stopping there, Wittenberg was able to take first in the 800m from Ella Webster (2:26.49) and go one and two from Kiki Krohmer (5:30.44) and Emma Hawk (5:31.59) in the 1 mile.

For the men, Zeke Bennett took a first-place finish in the 400m race with a time of 50.59. In the following race Wittenberg picked up eight more points from Dak Smith with a second-place finish in the 800m and time of 2:03.34. Taking third in the 60m hurdles was Riley Payne with a time of 8.92.

Competing in the men's 4x400 relay was Sam Callinan, Riley Payne, Joel Martin, and Matthew Whittemore with a third-place finish and time of 3:48.54.

In field events, the Red & White took a first-place finish in women's pole vault, being led by Tiffany Hix with a height of 3.00m. Wittenberg finished second in the men's and women's high jump with Justin Norris hitting 1.89m in the finals and Taylor Weiss going for 1.59m. Weiss would also place second in the women's triple jump with a distance of 10.21m. JJ Weisenberger finished third in the men's long jump with a distance of 6.57m. Also placing third for Wittenberg was Aidan Orth with a 11.04m in the women's shot put.
