Southern Swing Prepares Tigers for Outdoor Season

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Another stop on the Tiger track and field itinerary continues to gear up Craig Penney's men and women for the championship season ahead. In the unscored meet hosted by Phodes College, the Tigers turned in more early-season performances in Memphis, Tenn. 

Headlining the Tiger efforts, freshman distance standoutDarcy Dubuc (Grand Haven, Mich./Grand Haven) continued to drop her times in the 1,500 with a mark of 4:49.27. Men's middle-distance freshman Jarrett Cowgill (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) set a strong time in his 1,500 as well, pacing a 4:12.63. Sophomore Kevin Frick (Columbus, Ohio/Grandview)added a 10,000 meter time of 33:07.60 to the Wittenberg resume on the day.

In the long sprints, Jordan Stafford (Springfield, Ohio/Greenon) ran well amongst Division I competition with a time of 1:01.21 in the 400 meters. ClassmateCatherine Kuerbitz (Cleveland, Ohio/Regina) came in close on her heels with a 1:01.81.

Senior men's sprinter Manny Lamarre (Miami, Fla./Bellen Jesuit) crossed the 200 meter finish line in a time of 23.14 seconds. On Saturday, March 28, the Tigers face their next challenge - a trip to nearby Cedarville University.
