The Wittenberg men's and women's track and field teams got back
in action on Wednesday at the Otterbein Mid-Week Qualifier after 11
days off. The team used that break to heal some injuries, work on
some techniques heading into next weekend's NCAC Championships at
Ohio Wesleyan and host a pair of high school meets.
At the Otterbein meet, senior Tim Gaal (Amanda,
Ohio/Clearcreek) scored a victory in his specialty, the
javelin, and he was joined in the men's winners circle by sophomore
Matt Locke (South Charleston, Ohio/Southeastern)
in the 110-meter hurdles and junior Joe Rumschlag (Maumee,
Ohio/Toledo Christian) in the long jump. Gaal and senior
Skip Ivery (Columbus, Ohio/Groveport-Madison) have
both already qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship meet,
which is scheduled for May 27-29 at Millikin University.

400-meter hurdles and javelin in preparation for this weekend's
NCAC Multi-Events competition. Woessner is a two-time champion and
