Michael Branch joined the Tiger coaching staff in 2023 as an assistant coach and the aquatic coordinator for the Department of Athletics and Recreation.

Branch brought several years of coaching experience to Wittenberg after guiding multiple athletes to individual and team honors. He has coached multiple teams to conference championships, as well as several All-Americans and Swimmers of the Year, most notably during a stint at Olivet Nazarene University. While there, Branch helped lead both the men's and women's teams to conference championships in 2022 and 2023, and the women's team went on to achieve a third-place finish at the 2023 NAIA Championships.

Branch was also an accomplished student-athlete at the University of Mount Union, where he was a four-year member of the swimming and diving team. He earned all-conference honors in the 1650-yard freestyle and 400-yard individual medley. Branch graduated from Mount Union in 2016 with a bachelor's of science in athletic training with a minor in exercise science.
