SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — Known to so many Wittenberg University alumni simply as "Coach," legendary coach, administrator and professor Dave Maurer passed away Saturday, July 30, at the age of 79.

Springfield, Ohio — Wittenberg University's women's swimming and diving team recently earned a 2011 College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team award after posting a sterling 3.16 cumulative team grade point average.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Freshman Molly Gustafson (West Hartford, Conn./Conard) became the Tigers' newest and perhaps most improbable All-American with a seventh-place finish in the 100 breaststroke at the NCAA Division III Women's Swimming & Diving Championship Meet. She initially qualified for the meet as an alternate.

Springfield, Ohio — Even before Conor O'Rourke, class of 2011 from Mendham, N.J., arrived at Wittenberg University, he had discovered a passion for helping citizens of the impoverished Caribbean nation of Haiti. O'Rourke's on-going volunteer and fundraising efforts for the Haitian people, in combination with his athletic pursuits as a swimmer at Wittenberg, earned him a place on the list of semifinalists for the 2010 Coach Wooden Citizenship Cup.

Springfield, Ohio — Wittenberg University's men's and women's swimming and diving teams joined hundreds of other college, high school and club teams across the country to raise awareness and much-needed funds for cancer research recently as part of the fifth annual "Ted Mullin Leave it in the Pool, Hour of Power Relay."
