Tiger Men Sweep, Women Split At Oberlin Double Dual

OBERLIN, Ohio — The Wittenberg men's and women's swimming and diving teams together went 3-for-4 in a double dual meet with Oberlin and Baldwin-Wallace Saturday night, the women falling to the Yeowomen 63-77 and defeating the Yellow Jackets 115-25, while the men swept to wins of 104-36 over Baldwin-Wallace and 83-52 over Oberlin.

The women collected 5 first place finishes, including two individual wins by sophomore Megan Tassone (Cincinnati, Ohio/Ursuline) in the 100 and backstrokes. Freshman Ward McNulty (Glencoe, Ill./New Trier) won the 50 freestyle in the women's only other individual first-place finish. Sophomore Keaton Hannon (Peachtree City, Ga./McIntosh), freshman Adrienne Andrews (Bristol, Ind./Northridge), junior Katie Sbrocco (Highland Heights, Ohio/Mayfield) and sophomore Sinjin McNicholl (Indianapolis, Ind./Ben Davis) made up the winning 200 medley relay team. Combining to win the 800 freestyle relay were sophomore Rachel Lee (Hickory, NC/Hickory), senior Janna House (St. Thomas, Ontario/Central Elgin Collegiate Institute), senior Emily Ellerman (Littleton, Colo./Littleton) and freshman Jane Tsivitse (Wyoming, Ohio/Wyoming).

The men's team turned in seven first-place finishes, led by senior Neil Anderson (Lakewood, Ohio/Lakewood) with two individual and one on the 200 medley relay team. He took first in the 200 and 500 freestyle, while swimming the third leg of the 200 medley relay. Senior Taylor Smith (Mansfield, Ohio/Senior), freshman Michael Garza (Dayton, Ohio/Hampton) and junior Zach Stewart (Vincennes, Ind./Lincoln) made up the rest of the winning team.

Also notching top individual finishes were Stewart in the 100 fly, Garza in the 200 breast, sophomore Mickey Murphy (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) in the 1000 free and sophomore Ted Hutchinson (Sudbury, Mass./Lincoln-Sudbury Regional) in the 200 fly.

The Tigers return to the water in the DePauw Invitational, starting Friday, Dec. 4 and concluding on Saturday, Dec. 5, in Greencastle, Ind.
