Dual Season Concludes With Tuneup Against Conference Power Kenyon

Gambier, Ohio- There's no better way to get ready for a highly anticipated North Coast Athletic Conference Championship Meet than a dual meet against one of the title contenders. The Tigers sized themselves up against NCAC favorite Kenyon College in a dual meet, coming away with a strong late-season showing in a dual meet loss. The Tiger men fell 136-99 while the women dropped their meet 135-96.

One of the clear-cut highlights of the night came from junior standout Adeline Brym (Mansfield, Ohio/Lexington) who claimed a pair of individual victories while aiding the 400 freestyle relay to a night-capping win. Brym swept the 200 yard IM and 100 free, taking the latter in a time of 54.74.

Contributing strong efforts for the Red and White, fellow junior Megan Bundy (Canfield, Ohio/Canfield) touched the wall as the first Tiger in the 200 back, while joining Emily Elliott (Cincinnati, Ohio/Clark Montessori) in the 50 free. Elliott just edged her teammate Bundy in the 50 with times of 27.01 and 27.10 respectively.

For the men, Neil Anderson (Lakewood, Ohio/Lakewood) claimed the lone Tiger individual title on the night, taking the 200 free in 1:46.36 - a time just off a NCAA 'B' cut mark. Freshman Andy Tran (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington), junior Bobby Ritzi (Beavercreek, Ohio/Beavercreek), and senior Andy Bates (Lawrenceburg, Ind./East Central) joined Anderson on a 400 freestyle realy with a tiem of 3:19.41.

WIth the final dual meet of the season in the rearview mirror, Natalie Koukis and the Tigers turn their focus to the championship portion of their season. The men finished 7-4 in dual meets this season, while the women claimed a mark of 7-3. Awaiting the Tigers, the NCAC Championships hosted by the College of Wooster held at C.T. Branin Natatorium in Canton, Ohio from Feb. 12-14.
