CLEVELAND, OH - Four Wittenberg Women's Soccer standouts earned postseason awards from the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) following another outstanding season.
Senior forward Chamberlain Browning (Troy, OH / Troy) and senior midfielder Brooke Mullis (Lawrenceburg, IN / Taylor) both picked up first-team awards for their stellar play during the 2024 season, while freshman midfielder Caroline Stupp (Waynesville, OH / Waynesville) and senior defender Grace Koperna (Macedonia, OH / Nordonia) were both selected for second-team honors. The all-conference recognition was the first in the collegiate careers of Browning and Stupp. Mullis was named to the All-NCAC list for a third time to go along with first-team in 2023 and honorable mention in 2021. For Koperna, it was her second all-conference designation, adding to her first-team selection in 2023.
Browning led Wittenberg with seven goals on the season, including a pair of game-winners. Mullis equalled Browning for the team lead in points with 14 by virtue of her four goals and team-leading six assists. Stupp headlined a impressive class of newcomers to the Tiger lineup in 2024, providing a spark in the midfield both defensively and joining the attack with four goals and one assist for nine points. Koperna was outstanding at the all-important left back spot, regularly slowing up top opposing attackers to help Wittenberg's defense allow just 22 goals in 17 games. She also joined the offense regularly, finishing with two goals and two assists.
The Tigers finished fourth in the NCAC regular season standings with a 3-2-2 record. Wittenberg topped regular season champion Denison in the NCAC Tournament semifinals before falling in the championship game to host DePauw by a 2-1 score on Saturday, Nov. 9, despite outshooting the host Tigers 19-4. The Tigers posted an overall record of 6-5-5.
