Delaware, OH – The Wittenberg women's soccer team traveled to Ohio Wesleyan for a mid-week North Coast Athletic Conference showdown, falling to the Battling Bishops, 1-0. Battling the elements under the lights, the Tigers took a 0-0 draw into the break. Wittenberg managed just three shots through the first 45-minutes of action. Wittenberg picked up the offense in the second half, adding four shots, earning their only two corner kick opportunities of the evening. Annabel Blum tallied two shots on the evening for the Tiger offense, putting one on target.

Katie Wisniewski faced five shots on goal making four saves on the evening. Sophia Grossman came up with a critical clear off the line to save a Battling Bishop goal from crossing over.

Wittenberg moves to 2-8-5 on the season and 1-1-2 in the NCAC.

Wittenberg will return to action this Saturday, October 22, at 6:00 pm, hosting the College of Wooster Fighting Scots. Before the game, the Wittenberg women's soccer program will take time to honor alumnae Erika Rich '15. In March 2019 Erika was diagnosed with HER2+ Stage IV Breast Cancer at the age of 25. After her diagnosis her and her sister Jessica Co-Founded the Bloom Foundation Gives, a nonprofit that would raise awareness, FUNds and provide resources for breast cancer patients and survivors to help enhance their overall wellness and quality of life. Their goal was to make cancer fun! The Board of Directors for the Foundation is filled with all Wittenberg alums.
