Becca Joseph was named Wittenberg's women's lacrosse head coach prior to the 2022 season.
Joseph, a 2017 Wittenberg alumna, broke school records for career points and assists during her collegiate career. A three-time All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) standout, she also served as team captain during the 2017 season. Prior to returning to her alma mater, Joseph served as an assistant coach at Ohio Northern University, where she helped lead the team to the first conference tournament appearance in program history. Joseph served a vital role in the organization with recruitment visits and tournaments, along with team travel.
"We are extremely excited about Becca leading our Women's lacrosse program into the future," said Director of Athletics and Recreation Brian Agler. "She was an all-time great player here. She knows Wittenberg and will do a great job recruiting and building back our program."
In her first three seasons at the helm, Joseph guided seven different players to All-NCAC awards as she re-built a roster thinned by pandemic restrictions in 2020 and 2021. In 2024, the Tigers compiled an overall record of 6-10, the program's highest win total in five years.
At Wittenberg, Joseph double majored in sport management and business, concentrating in finance. She went on to receive a Master of Science in Sport Management from The Ohio State University. During her time at Wittenberg, Joseph spent her off-seasons engulfing herself in Greek life and working as the student manager for the Tiger football program.
Joseph had her first coaching experience with Earlham College as an assistant coach for the 2018 and 2019 seasons. Joseph was in charge of the administrative duties, organizing team travel, gameday preparation, team meals, and recruiting opportunities. She worked closely with the head coach to develop practice plans and recruiting strategies. During her time at Earlham, Joseph was also the team coach for Indy United, a club organization in Indianapolis, Indiana. Joseph prepared the class of 2020 for recruiting tournaments and showcases while coaching them for summer tournament play.
