Wittenberg Falls To Allegheny, 12-13

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Wittenberg women's lacrosse team lost another heartbreaker to league rival Allegheny. The Tigers came out strong but could not hold on, eventually losing 12-13 to their North Coast Athletic Conference rivals.

Eager for payback after losing a year ago to the Gators in double overtime, the ladies in Red and White could not hang on long enough to pull out the home victory. Offensively for the Tigers, senior Amber Cupples (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster)and freshmen Lisa Blahut (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles) both scored three goals.

On the other end of the field, the Tigers were led by sophomore Andrea Berry (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville North), who recorded four caused turnovers, and freshmen Hannah Walsh (Rochester, NY/Brighton), who added three. Sophomore goalkeeper Bonnie Kenney (Lutherville, Md./Park School) registered eight saves on the day.

The Tigers next face NCAC rival Denison on the road at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 23.
