Tigers Unable To Keep Pace At Denison

Granville, Ohio - The Wittenberg women's lacrosse team was unable to keep up with a tough Denison team as they lost to the Big Red 7-15, falling to 5-7 overall and 0-5 in the North Coast Athletic Conference.

Excited to face a tough Denison team that is now 4-1 in the conference, the Tigers could not slow the Big Red down. The game was rough for the Tigers as they played from behind the entire game. During the second half, the Tigers did bring the score back within three goals, however, a good Denison team continued to answer back.

Offensivley for the Tigers, Freshmen Jordan Beauchamp (Noblesville, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) led all Tigers with four goals and eight shots. SeniorAmber Cupples (Wooster Ohio/Wooster) and Junior Lizzie Amorello (Sutton, Mass./Worcester Academy)both contributed with two goals apiece.

Also contributing for the Tigers were seniors Beth Vonderbrink (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame)with three draw controls along with Cupples and Amorello as well. Sophomore goalie Bonnie Kenney (Lutherville, Md./Park School) added 10 more career saves to her total tonight.

The Tigers play their last game Saturday, April 26 against league rivals Oberlin at 6 p.m.
