WESTFIELD CENTER — The Wittenberg women's golf team finished fourth in the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships following the third and final round on Sunday.
The Basics
- Venue: Westfield Country Club North Course - Westfield Center, Ohio, Par 70, Yardage: 5,528
- Hiram served as the host school for the tournament.
- The top five individual finishers (including ties) earn All-NCAC First Team honors. Places six through 10 (including ties) earn Second Team recognition, and places 11-15 (including ties) earn Third Team accolades.
- Senior Ellen Frame (Mason, Ohio/Mason) and sophomores Izzy Selby (Cincinati, Ohio/Seton) and Hillary Humbaugh (Haubstadt, Ind./Gibson Southern) are returning All-NCAC performers from a year ago. Frame and Selby earned Second Team honors after finishing tied for sixth at the 2023 NCAC Championships, and Humbaugh earned Third Team recognition with a 13th-place finish.
The Tournament
- Wittenberg finished fourth in the five-team field with a 121-over-par 315-334-312—961 in the 54-hole tournament.
- Denison, which received votes in the latest WGCA Coaches Poll, earned its fourth straight NCAC Championships title with a 61-over-par 295-301-305—901 to clinch a bid in the NCAA Championships. DePauw was second at 74-over-par, and Wooster was third at 76-over-par. Ohio Wesleyan was fifth at 412-over-par.
- DePauw's Becky Williams was the tournament medalist, finishing with an even-par 69-64-77—210. Wooster's Melissa Burtscher was second at 8-over-par, and Denison's Kate Griffin was third at 13-over-par.
- Humbaugh led Wittenberg with a sixth-place finish in the 24-woman field to earn All-NCAC Second Team honors. She shot an 18-over-par 77-78-73—228. Her 73 on Sunday led the field.
- Selby earned All-NCAC Third Team recognition, tying for 13th with a 27-over-par 80-82-75—237.
- Junior Halley McNair (Cincinnati, Ohio/Bishop Fenwick) just missed earning All-Conference recognition, finishing in 16th place with a 30-over-par 78-83-79—240.
- Freshman Taylor Rausch (Mechanicsburg, Ohio/Mechanicsburg) finished 19th with 62-over-par 87-91-94—272.
- Frame withdrew and did not compete in Saturday's second round. She shot a first-round 80 and a third-round 85.
- The Tigers' 2023-24 season is now complete.
