Coming off a solid fall season, Wittenberg Women's Golf Head Coach Jeff Roope knows the key to his team's continued improvement in 2009-10 is consistency. Now regularly competing with some of the top teams in the Great Lakes Region, the Tigers posted team scores ranging from a school-record 332 at the year-opening Ferris State Invitational to four rounds above 360.

Sophomore Anne Busam (Cincinnati, Ohio/Ursuline) led the way again in the fall 2009 season with a stroke average of 86.5. Already owner of multiple school records after a tremendous freshman year in 2008-09, Busam opened the year with a two-round total of 160 at Ferris State, and she later posted a 162 at the DePauw Small College Classic.

Sophomore Nicole Momsen (Sylvania, Ohio/St. Ursula) had the next-best scoring average during the fall season at 88.1. Momsen's consistency was significant for the Tigers, as all six of her tournament results were between 171 and 183.

Freshman Meghann Greene (North Royalton, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) made a name for herself in her inaugural collegiate campaign, becoming the third player on the team to finish the fall with a sub-90 stroke average (89.9). She also was consistent throughout the fall, starting with a collegiate-best 168 at Ferris State.

After Busam, Momsen and Greene, numerous players are jockeying for time in the starting lineup heading into the spring season. Freshman Jenna Lisic (Orrville, Ohio/Orrville) played well in the fall, averaging 90.6, while sophomore Heather Hendrickson (Fort Wayne, Ind./Bishop Luers) finished at 92.6, a slight improvement over her average in 2008-09. In addition to providing significant leadership, co-captains Kaci McClure (Dublin, Ohio/Scioto), a senior, and Carrie Frey (Cincinnati, Ohio/McNicholas), a sophomore, also are in the mix.
