Wittenberg Women's Golf Hosts Annual Spring Invitational On April 19 At Windy Knoll Golf Club

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — The Wittenberg University women's golf team is hosting its second annual spring invitational tournament at Windy Knoll Golf Club in Springfield on Tuesday, April 19. Action gets under way for all seven schools represented in the competition at 10 a.m. with a shotgun start.

Along with host Wittenberg, a second-year varsity program, Wilmington College, Otterbein College, the University of Findlay and Ohio Northern University will play with complete teams in the tournament. Denison University and Capital University each have two players entered and thus will not be competing for the team title.

Wittenberg is led in 2004-05 by Callie Riley of Orlando, Fla., class of 2006, who has a team-best stroke average of 99.2. Ann Delany of Buffalo Grove, Ill., class of 2006, has a stroke of average of 101.6 and team captain Meghan Lahner of Toledo, Ohio, class of 2005, has a stroke average 104.6. All three players have competed in 10 rounds during the 2004-05 season.

Windy Knoll Golf Club, formerly a world-renowned horse farm, is a links-style course that opened in 2002. The par-71, 18-hole course plays 6,800 yards from the professional tees. For the Wittenberg Women's Golf Invitational, the teams will play from the white tees for a yardage of 5,822. Windy Knoll is co-owned by Dan d'Arrigo, class of 1978.
