A former high school coach, teacher, administrator, and superintendent at various school districts in and around the Clark County area, Chad Mason worked as an assistant coach on the Wittenberg women's basketball staff with legendary head coach Pam Evans Smith from 2000-2004 and again in the 2006-07 season. After a long hiatus, Mason returned to the sidelines in the arena now named for Smith prior to the 2024-25 season.

Presently the Career Connections Coordinator with the Greene County Educational Service Center, Mason is a 1993 graduate of Ohio Northern and the recipient of a master's degree in educational administration from the University of Dayton. He lives in Springfield with his wife, Carrie.
