Meadville, OH- The Tigers continued their weekend road trip with a 90-68 win over the Gators of Allegheny College. After a win over Hiram last night, the Tigers came back for more, out-scoring the Gators in three of the four quarters and led in FG%, 3PT%, and FT% to bring their season record to 16-6.
Wittenberg came out hard in the first quarter, putting up 27 points and holding Allegheny to only 11 points. The Tigers shot for 60% in field goals, 42.8% in 3-pointers, and went six for six in free throws. Even with a comfortable lead, the Tigers didn't let up and put another 27 points on the board in the second quarter to give them 54 points heading into the locker room. Wittenberg was able to improve in the field goal and three point percentages to give them 62.5% FG% and 50% in 3PT% while maintaining 100% on the free throw line.
After halftime, Wittenberg came out with speed and continued to push the pace of the game to put up 20 more points over the Gators and only allowed 16 on the other side. With a 24 point lead, the Tigers showed how composed and competitive they were in the fourth quarter to take down the Gators with a 90-68 score and another NCAC win under their belts.
Key Players: Two Tigers dominated on the court tonight to stand out on paper. Delaney Williams put up 26 points and five assists while Kristie Kalis put up 24 points, five rebounds and five assists.
Up Next: The Tigers will be back in action on Wednesday, February 12th as they Play-4-Kay and honor Pam Evans Smith prior to their game.
