Springfield, OH- The Tigers were home in Pam Evans Arena for their Tiger Pals Day against the Kenyon Ladies.
Tigers got off to a fast start putting up three in the first seconds of the game. Wittenberg came ready to play and with a crucial steal from Delaney Williams, Tigers went into the second quarter with a 13-10 lead over the Ladies of Kenyon.
The second quarter would be a tougher battle for Wittenberg who faced their first deficit of the game with six minutes remaining in the quarter. The Tigers continued to be persistent and stuck with the Ladies but Kenyon was able to change the pace of the game and take the lead. Wittenberg was able to come back and tie it up in the remaining minutes and a basket from Kristie Kalis gave the Tigers a 25-23 lead heading into the locker room.
Wittenberg was able to extend their lead in the third quarter, going on a ten-point streak over the Ladies. Tigers added fourteen points to take a 39-27 lead with three-minute still to play in the third quarter. Wittenberg didn't let up and continued to score in the remaining minutes and took their biggest lead of the game to go into the fourth quarter with a 47-31 lead.
Wittenberg was able to capitalize off a frantic Kenyon team in the fourth quarter, doubling the Ladies points at times. Wittenberg was able to have their second highest scoring period, putting up 18 points to give them a 65-46 victory over the Ladies. Wittenberg was led by Kalis in points with 16, Korynne Berner grabbed 10 rebounds for the Tigers, and Delaney Williams led in assists with six.
