Tigers Topple Kenyon On The Road

Gambier, OH- Wittenberg hit the road for their third conference matchup of the season, traveling to Kenyon College. In the 71st meeting between the Tigers and the Ladies, Wittenberg defeated Kenyon for the first time on the road since 2015 by a score of 74-61. The 4-4 Tigers were able to get off to a hot start and continued to carry momentum over to each quarter, eventually pulling away in the fourth quarter to end with a thirteen point lead. Wittenberg knocked down 22 of 49 shots from the floor on the night, converting on 26 of 32 attempts from the charity stripe. 

Kristie Kalis was able to get points on the board first for Wittenberg with an assist from Delaney Williams. The Tigers were able to put up 24 points in the first quarter to lead 24-20. Wittenberg was quieter in the second quarter, only putting up 13 points but were able to keep their lead. Tiger defense held Kenyon to only eight points in the second quarter to give them a 37-28 lead going into the half. The Tigers started the third quarter strong, going on an unanswered ten-point streak. Wittenberg went on to extend that ten-point lead to twelve at the end of the quarter with a score of 60-48. Williams kept momentum on Wittenberg's side with a steal to start off the fourth quarter, the Kenyon Ladies were only able to record thirteen more points to end the night with a Tiger win and score of 74-61.

Key Players: Delaney Williams led Wittenberg offense with 23 points on the night and 3 assists while Riley Culver controlled the ball with 9 total rebounds.
