SPRINGFIELD, Ohio-- The Tigers opened up the 2015 Charles B. Zimmerman Memorial Classic  with a 51-46 defeat Monday night. Wittenberg had two players score in double digits led by Michelle Brunswick (Middletown, Ohio/Madison) with 12 points, and Taylore Bundy (Lewis Center, Ohio/Olentangy Orange) with 11 points. Despite leading for most of the game, the Tigers allowed Baldwin Wallace to take the lead late in the third-quarter, and fought hard to keep the game close down the stretch.

GAME BREAKDOWN

• The Tigers got off to a 9-0 run to start the game, and a 6-2 run to start the second quarter.
• Witttenberg lead at the half 25-21, before seeing their lead cut down by a 6-3 Baldwin Wallace run at the beginning of the third quarter.
• The Tigers lead the entire game until the buzzer ending the third quarter, where Baldwin Wallace took a 34-33 lead.
• Clawing back with a 7-0 run of their own, the Tigers allowed a 9-0 run by BW to reclaim the lead at 43-40 late in the fourth quarter.

• Wittenberg lead by as many as 10 points in the game.
• The game saw 7 lead changes and no ties in the back and forth affair.
• The Tigers shot nearly 38 percent from behind the three point arc.

• The Tigers won the rebounding battle 40-35.
• 24 turnovers plauged Wittenberg's offense Monday night, as BW was able to score 24 points off of them as a result.
• Wittenberg's offense managed 11 assists in Monday's efforts.

• "I was very proud with how tough and aggressive we came out tonight...We just didn't execute, bad passes and turnovers got us today. We need to learn and grow from these mistakes and build confidence from moments like these," said Head Coach Jurewicz.
