Tigers Drop Tournament Opener to Baldwin Wallace

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio-- The Tigers opened up the 2015 Charles B. Zimmerman Memorial Classic  with a 51-46 defeat Monday night. Wittenberg had two players score in double digits led by Michelle Brunswick (Middletown, Ohio/Madison) with 12 points, and Taylore Bundy (Lewis Center, Ohio/Olentangy Orange) with 11 points. Despite leading for most of the game, the Tigers allowed Baldwin Wallace to take the lead late in the third-quarter, and fought hard to keep the game close down the stretch.

GAME BREAKDOWN

  • The Tigers got off to a 9-0 run to start the game, and a 6-2 run to start the second quarter.
  • Witttenberg lead at the half 25-21, before seeing their lead cut down by a 6-3 Baldwin Wallace run at the beginning of the third quarter.
  • The Tigers lead the entire game until the buzzer ending the third quarter, where Baldwin Wallace took a 34-33 lead.
  • Clawing back with a 7-0 run of their own, the Tigers allowed a 9-0 run by BW to reclaim the lead at 43-40 late in the fourth quarter.
