High School

Lara graduated from Oak Park River Forest High School in 2011. She played basketball in the West Suburban Conference under Bob Biggins, and J.P. Couglin. She was on the All-Conference Academic team in 2011, the Conference Champion Team in 2011, and won Defensive Player of the year in 2008 & 2009. 

Lara was also a member of National Honors Society, Latin National Honors Society, Spoken Word, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), and tutored third graders. 

Personal

Amber is the daughter of Billie and Rodney Lara. She won the Defensive Hustle award at Wittenberg in 2011-12. In College, she is a member of Emerging Leaders and Alpha Lambda Delta Freshman Honors Society. She always worked for 4 Paws for Ability, a peer helper, and an orientation assistant. In her free time she enjoys reading, writing poetry, workingout, watching football, bike riding, long boarding, running, and doing the dougie. After college, she plans to go to law school.
