Dan Davis

Dan Davis joined the Wittenberg softball coaching staff as an assistant in August 2023. He previously served as an assistant coach with nearby Kenton Ridge High School during the 2022-23 season.

The Parkersburg, WV, native joined the Tigers' softball program after retiring from the United States Army in 2021. He achieved the rank of Sergeant Major (SGM) and served multiple combat deployments, including Iraq and Afghanistan, during his 20-year military career. Davis was the head softball coach of the All-Army Softball program in 2019 and has coached travel softball teams in North Carolina, Arizona, and Ohio.

Davis brings a mental performance edge to the Tigers' program as a certified mental performance coach. He has worked with numerous high-level athletes and teams on the mental approach, understanding mental performance is the missing link to help athletes get from where they are to where they want to be, in athletics and in life. Davis earned a bachelor's degree in general studies from Ohio Valley University, and he has a master's degree in sport administration/coaching philosophy from American Military University.

Davis resides in Springfield, Ohio, with his wife Mandy (Goin) Davis, and their three children.
