Tigers Split NCAC Road Series With Kenyon

Gamebier, OH – The Wittenberg Tiger Softball team traveled to Kenyon College, splitting the NCAC series with the Ladies. The Tigers fell in game one by a final score of 3-1. Wittenberg responded in game two, edging out Kenyon with a 3-2 victory. Wittenberg tallied 15 hits on the day with Briana Busic, Julia Burch, and Nikki Hawkins each accounting for multiple hits throughout the series. Kira van Ravensberg picked up her sixth win in the circle for the Tigers in game two, going the distance with two runs allowed on six hits.

Wittenberg would plate one run in their final at-bat of game one against the Ladies from Kenyon College. Busic tallied the RBI single for the Tigers to put Wittenberg, scoring Hawkins.

Carrying the offense into game two, Alexis Christy ripped an RBI double into left center, scoring Hawkins for Wittenberg's first run. Samantha Casteel added the second Wittenberg run with an RBI single, scoring Christy. Elise Freeland pushed across the final Wittenberg run in the fifth inning, driving a single through the right side to score Busic.

Wittenberg will return home to celebrate Senior Day on Saturday, April, 23 hosting the Tigers from DePauw University at 1:00 pm.
