SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — The Wittenberg softball team wrapped up the 2012 North Coast Athletic Conference season on Wednesday with a Senior Day celebration, but dropped both ends of a doubleheader with Oberlin College.

The Tigers fell by scores of 10-4 and 9-6 in the games, slipping to 7-9 in the NCAC and 22-16 overall, and as a result are out of contention for a spot in the conference tournament.

In between games, the Tigers honored their six senior student-athletes who were playing their last games at Betty Dillahunt Field, including Brooklyn Cox (Dayton, Ohio/Vandalia Butler), Jessica Snyder (Northfield, Ill./New Trier), Anna Kvartunas (Springfield, Va./Paul VI Catholic), Tori Amicon (Galloway, Ohio/Hilliard Darby), Fallon White (Fairborn, Ohio/Northmont) and Katelyn Davis (Bethesda, Ohio/Union Local).

All six seniors played and registered at least one hit or pitching strikeout. Snyder was the headliner, posting perhaps the best day of her career at the plate with a 4-for-4, three RBI line in game one and 3-for-4, one RBI in game two, a 7-for-8, four RBI day overall.

Cox, White and Amicon all posted two hits while Davis had one, and Kvartunas pitched 3 2/3 innings in game two, registering one strikeout.
