
Sarah Fetters
Springfield, Ohio — Wittenberg University softball standout Sarah Fetters, class of 2008 from Maumee, Ohio, has been recognized for the combination of her athletic and academic accomplishments with second-team CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine College Division Academic All-America honors.
Fetters enjoyed what could be considered a breakout season in 2007 with a team-best .448 batting average, which put her second in the NCAC and in the top 100 nationally. She topped Wittenberg with three home runs, 22 doubles, 65 hits and 98 total bases, and she ranked second on the team with 38 runs scored as well. She ranked third in the nation and first in the NCAC in doubles per game, and she now ranks among the top 10 on several career and single season school record lists.
Fetters is a member of the prestigious national academic honorary Phi Beta Kappa and Wittenberg's chapter of the student-athlete honorary Chi Alpha Sigma. She has served as an intern in the Office of University Communications at Wittenberg, and this summer she is working as an intern with the West Virginia Power, the class A minor league baseball team affiliated with the Milwaukee Brewers in Charleston, W.Va.
