Springfield, Ohio — Wittenberg University Softball Head Coach Becky Hall was recently awarded the distinction of Four-Star Master Coach by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

Hall was one of 19 coaches from across the country who completed all eight courses of the association's National Fastpitch Coaches College (NFCC) to earn the distinction. The NFCC awards a star for every two courses taken, leading up to the four-star distinction.

"These awards show the commitment of these coaches to professionalism and to the sport of softball," NFCC Director Sharon Drysdale said. "It reflects the time and energy they put into bettering their coaching, and not only will it make them better coaches, but it will make their teams and the game better. It also makes the NFCC courses better when you have such quality individuals taking the courses and sharing their experiences."

Hall took over the Wittenberg softball program in 1999 and steered the Tigers to their first-ever North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) championship a year later. Hall's teams have won one NCAC regular season title, one NCAC Tournament championship and made two NCAA Division III Tournament appearances, winning an opening round game each time. She has earned NCAC Coach of the Year honors twice in her career.

Hall is a 1997 graduate of Urbana University. A four-year letterwinner as a second baseman, the Springfield native was named All-Mid-Ohio Conference in both 1996 and 1997.
