Tigers Close Out Weekend Taking Down Alderson Broaddus

Amherst, NY - The Wittenberg men's volleyball team got back on the winning track, taking down Alderson Broaddus, 3-0 [25-11, 25-15, 25-13] to close out the weekend. The Tigers posted a .354 attack percentage on the afternoon, putting down 34 kills on 65 total attacks. Jackson Tyler led the Wittenberg offense with 11 kills on the day, adding five digs with one block. 

Match Breakdown

Wittenberg came out swinging to start the match, putting down 10 kills on 17 swings, posting a .412 attack percentage through the first set. The Tigers took a quick 11-5 lead in the first, holding onto a 15-7 advantage midway through the set. The Tigers kept their foot on the gas extending their lead out to 20-10, before taking the first set 25-11. Wittenberg didn't slow down in the second set, posting a .304 hitting percentage, putting down 11 kills on 23 attacks. The Tigers kept the momentum rolling into the final set, taking the match 25-13, holding Alderson-Broaddus to a .000 attack marker through the final set. Collin Buelow and Dominic Melchiorre each posted hitting markers better than .400 on the afternoon. Buelow tallied six kills with nine digs and three blocks. Melchiorre added nine kills with four blocks.

UP NEXT

The Tigers will hit the road on Thursday, Feb. 6 to take on the Raiders from the University of Mount Union. The first serve is set for 7:00 PM.
