Jessi Juarez

The Wittenberg Track and Field team welcomes Jessi Juarez as the newest assistant coach. Juarez brings a wealth of teaching and coaching experience to the Tiger staff, with stops at the University of Wisconsin-Stout and Roanoke College. Juarez will be working with the jumpers and multi-event athletes.

Prior to coming to Springfield, Juarez spent three years as a personal trainer and nine years as a track and field coach. Juarez has experience coaching several event areas along with a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Sports Performance certification.

"I am extremely excited to have Coach Juarez join our staff," said Paris Hilliard, "She brings great experience and versatility. Her energy and knowledge of the sport will help our team continue to excel." 

While at the collegiate level, Juarez has coached three National Champions and two national Runner-ups. Under Juarez's tutelage, she has coached, 30 National Qualifiers, 25 All-Americans, including a Regional Athlete of the Year honoree. At the conference level, Juarez has led athletes to 18 conference titles, along with 63 Top 3 finishes.  

"I believe hard work pays off and I'm excited to join Wittenberg's athletic department," said Juarez, "Coach Hilliard and his staff have built a great foundation for the track and field programs. The best is yet to come and it is a privilege to say that I will get to be a part of that journey."

A graduate of Marietta College of Ohio, Juarez (formerly Larrison) was a two-time OAC Champion in the 800-meter run, and a member of the women's 4x400-meter relay team that took home the indoor conference title in 2009. Juarez was a four-year athlete for both the women's cross-country and track and field programs, earning most improved twice and most valuable four times. She currently holds individual records in both the indoor and outdoor 800-meter run. Juarez graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design in 2009 and completed her Master of Arts in Education at Muskingum University in 2012.
