Men's Indoor Track and Field posts six top-5 finishes at Mount Union Final Qualifier

ALLIANCE — The Wittenberg men's indoor track and field team posted six top-five finishes at the Mount Union Final Qualifier on Saturday.

The Basics

  • Venue: Peterson Fieldhouse - Alliance, Ohio
  • The meet was not team scored.
  • The meet represented the last opportunity to qualify for the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships. The top 20 declared student-athletes in each individual event and the top 12 declared relay teams will qualify for the national meet. Selections will be announced on Sunday evening.

Wittenberg's Top Performers

  • Sophomore Jeremy Watson (Sugar Grove, Ohio/Berne Union) finished second in the pole vault with a mark of 4.40 meters.
  • Senior Zeke Bennett (Hilliard, Ohio/Bradley) was third in the 400 meters with a time of 50.35 seconds.
  • In the high jump, junior Justin Norris (Middletown, Ohio/Middletown Christian) tied for third with a mark of 1.89 meters, and sophomore Grayson Ring (Tipp City, Ohio/Tippecanoe) was fifth with a mark of 1.84 meters.
  • Senior JJ Weisenberger (Collins, Ohio/Western Reserve) placed fourth in the long jump with a mark of 6.88 meters.
  • Freshman Caiden Allen (Ontario, Ohio/Plymouth) finished fifth in the 60-meter dash in 7.00 seconds.
