CANTON, NY - Senior Justin Yates (Dayton, Ohio/Bellbrook) put the finishing touches on a tremendous collegiate career with a 13th-place finish in the 400-meter dash at the 2015 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships.

Yates posted a time of 48.70 on a cool, windy day at St. Lawrence University in upstate New York. He missed out on qualifying for the nine-runner final on Saturday by .26 of a second.

The national berth was the second of Yates' career. In 2014, Yates placed 19th in the 400-meter dash at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships at Ohio Wesleyan.

"Justin has had such a great career," said Wittenberg Head Coach Craig Penney. "It will be very hard to replace him.

"This is an outstanding finish to a solid senior season. I'm thrilled for him and proud of all he achieved."

Junior Brea Medlock (Galena, Ohio/Big Walnut) competed in the women's 200-meter dash a day earlier, finishing 19th in the nation, and junior Justin Fisher (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll) will round out Wittenberg's representation at the NCAA competition when he participates in the triple jump on Saturday.
