Tigers Make Final Push For NCAA Berths

GRANVILLE, Ohio - The Wittenberg indoor tracvk and field teams competed in the unscored Denison Last Chance Invitational and the North Coast Athletic Conference Pentathlon at Oberlin this weekend, registering a number of highlights in the successful weekend.

The women snared three first place finishes in the Denison meet, including two from sophomore Kari Domiano (Dublin, Ohio/Jerome), who won the 55-meter dash and the 200-meter dash. She was joined at the top by sophomore Darcy Dubuc (Grand Haven, Mich./Grand Haven) following her first-place finish in the one-mile run.

Freshman Shawnquaya Johnson (Uhrichsville, Ohio/Claymont) medaled twice with third-place finishes in the long jump and 400-meter dash, and sophomoreJordan Stafford (Springfield, Ohio/Greenon) matched with a third-place spot in the 200-meter dash. In the NCAC Pentathlon, freshman Whitney Goller (Findlay, Ohio/Liberty Benton) turned in a seventh-place showing, including first-place in the 55-meter hurdles and long jump.

The highlight for the men came with the second-place finish of senior Tim Uher (Granville, Ohio/Pickerington North) at the NCAC Pentathlon, on the strength of first place in the 55-meter hurdles, second in the long jump and third in the high jump. At Denison, freshman David Kolakowski (Rocky River, Ohio/Rocky River)placed first in the pole vault, while freshman Yandy Plasencia (Granville, Ohio/John A. Ferguson) was second in the long jump.
