Track Continues To Impress At Oberlin

OBERLIN, Ohio - The Wittenberg Track and Field teams continued to impress at the Oberlin Robert Kahn Invitational on Friday, as the men turned in a third-place finish and the women fell on hard luck in an eighth-place finish. 

Junior Erik Larkin (Cincinnati, Ohio/Country Day) led the highlights, starting with a third-place finish in the high jump. He then improved to a second-place finish in the long jump, before topping it all of with a first-place performance in the triple jump. Not to be outdone, sophomore Mat Guida (LaGrange, Ky./Oldham County) bested the field in the men's discus. Sophomore Adam Roberts (Springfield, Ohio/Shawnee) turned in a second-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles along with a third-place finish in the 110-meter version. Junior Ryan Resides (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota East) had a second-place finish in the javelin throw.

On the women's side, freshman Kaitlyn Wesseler (Huber Heights, Ohio/Wayne)carded third in the pole vault, before senior Allison Walker (Columbus, Ohio/Academy) took the gold in hammer throw.

The men compete in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Multi-Events Saturday and Sunday, while the women will skip the multis and will wait for the men's and women's championships at Ohio Wesleyan starting Thursday, May 1.
