Tigers Run Well At Loaded DePauw Invitational

GREENCASTLE, Ind. — The Wittenberg men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed well in a DePauw Invitational field loaded with scholarship programs. The Tiger women placed ninth of 12 teams with 23 points, while the Tiger men took 11th with 20 points. 

The top finisher for the Tiger women was junior Katie Shoemaker (Arcanum, Ohio/Franklin Monroe), who took third place in the 400 meters. In addition, freshman Kaitlyn Wesseler (Huber Heights, Ohio/Wayne) added a sixth place finish in the pole vault and senior Allison Walker (Columbus, Ohio/Academy) earned team points with top-eight finishes in the weight throw and shot put.

Sophomore Erik Larkin (Cincinnati, Ohio/Country Day) was the Tigers' top male finisher as he placed third in the triple jump, while freshman Rod Belcher (Covington, Ga./Newton County) placed fifth in the 55 meters.

The Tigers are back in action Feb. 15 at Kenyon.
