GRANVILLE, Ohio — The Wittenberg men's and women's indoor track and field teams captured six individual wins during the Denison Big Red Invitational, a five-team event that did not include team scoring.

On the men's side, three different individuals - two freshmen and a sophomore - shined brightest. Freshman Curt Weidner (Harrison, Ohio/Harrison) topped the field in the 55-meter hurdles, freshman Matt Guida (LaGrange, Ky./Oldham County) led the way in the shot put and sophomore Erik Larkin (Cincinnati, Ohio/Country Day) continued his fine season with a first-place finish in the triple jump, which went along with a fifth in the long jump and a second in the high jump.

Also of note, sophomore Manoach Lamarre (Miami, Fla./Bellen Jesuit) took second in the 55 meters and third in the 200 meters.

The women's team got its usual fine performances from three individuals who have been doing it all season. Junior Nicole Bailey (Cincinnati, Ohio/Summit Country Day) was a double-winner, claiming the top spot in the 55 meters and the triple jump, in addition to a second-place finish in the long jump. She was ably backed by sophomore Katie Shoemaker (Arcanum, Ohio/Franklin Monroe), who placed first in the 400 meters and second in the 200 meters, and junior Allison Walker (Columbus, Ohio/Academy), who finished in the runner-up spot in the shot put.
