Men's Tennis closes regular season with 9-0 loss at Wooster

WOOSTER — The Wittenberg men's tennis team closed its regular-season schedule with a 9-0 loss at Wooster in North Coast Athletic Conference play on Sunday.

The Basics

  • In doubles play, junior Ethan Libby (Loveland, Ohio/Loveland) and freshman Jacob Bennett (Pickerington, Ohio/Central) fell in a tiebreaker, 7-8 (2-7) at No. 1. Junior Mark Trinka (Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park and River Forest) and freshman Sven Van den Eerenbeemt (S-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands/Gymnasium Beekvliet) fell 1-8 at No. 2, and freshmen Andrew Garofoli (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) and Henry Smith-Heston (Yellow Springs, Ohio/Yellow Springs) fell 1-8 at No. 3.
  • Two of the singles courts went to third-set tiebreakers. Libby fell 2-6, 4-6 at No. 1, Trinka fell 6-0, 4-6, 4-10 at No. 2, Bennett fell 2-6, 2-6 at No. 3, Garofoli fell 0-6, 0-6 at No. 4, Van den Eerenbeemt fell 4-6, 6-4, 7-10 at No. 5, and Smith-Heston fell 1-6, 4-6 at No. 6.
