CLEVELAND — The Wittenberg men's and women's swimming and diving teams are set for the 2024 North Coast Athletic Conference Championships, which will be held Feb. 14-17 at the Trumbull Aquatics Center on the campus of Denison University in Granville.
The Wittenberg women are led by senior Mackenzie Schuld (Rocky River, Ohio/Rocky River), who enters the meet with five of the Tigers' top times and holds two top-25 NCAC seed times. The veteran posted the NCAC's 23rd-fastest 200 butterfly (2:18.55) and 24th-quickest 400 individual medley (4:51.10), while also holding the 31st-best time in the 500 freestyle (5:20.09). Schuld also owns Wittenberg's top time in the 200 backstroke (2:23.26) and the 100 fly (1:04.32).
Freshman Sophie Paskiet (Toledo, Ohio/St. Ursula) will enter her first conference championship with top-20 times in the NCAC in the 100 (1:08.37) and 200 (2:27.88) breaststroke events to go along with the league's 33rd-best time in the 200 IM (2:16.57). In the freestyle events, sophomore Shania Stone (Cincinnati, Ohio/Princeton) owns two top-30 times in the NCAC, the 25th-fastest 100 (53.24) and 29th-best 50 (24.70), while also posting Wittenberg's quickest 200 (2:01.74). The Tiger men are led by senior Zach Parkman (Lancaster, Ohio/Fisher Catholic), who owns two top-30 seed times in the conference. Heading into next week, Parkman ranks 16th in the league in the 200 butterfly (1:57.64) and 27th in the 100 fly (52.80).
