SPRINGFIELD — The Wittenberg men's and women's swimming and diving teams were named to the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America Scholar All-America Team for the fall 2023 semester, the organization announced on Monday.

In order to qualify for this prestigious recognition, teams had to exhibit exceptional grade point averages during the fall 2023 semester.

Under head coach Sam Benedict, the Tiger women boasted a cumulative 3.59 GPA during the fall 2023 semester, while the men posted a 3.22 GPA.

The Tiger women were one of 595 teams from all divisions to achieve a GPA of 3.30 or above, earning eligibility for the Intercollegiate Coach Association Coalition All-Sport Academic Standings.

"The dedication to academic excellence displayed by these teams is truly commendable," CSCAA Executive Director Samantha Barany said. "It is heartening to witness student-athletes thriving both in the pool and in their academic pursuits. The CSCAA is proud to recognize and celebrate the hard work and commitment of these teams."

The Wittenberg men's and women's swimming and diving teams have wrapped up their regular-season schedules and will return to action at the four-day North Coast Athletic Conference Championships on Feb. 14-17 at Denison.
