Tigers Open New Year at Home

Springfield, OH- Wittenberg returned to the pool for their first meet in the New Year, hosting the Grizzlies of Franklin College in a dual meet.

Mackenzie Schuld took a second-place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle  with a time of 11:30.60. Schuld would also grab points in the 200-yard IM with a third-place finish at 2:25.44 and third in the 100-yard breaststroke, finishing at 1:22.40. Addison Payne picked up three points for the Tigers in the women's 200-yard freestyle with a third-place finish and time of 2:18.88. Payne also took third in the 100-yard butterfly at 1:14.10 followed by a second-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 6:17.59. Also grabbing a third-place finish for Wittenberg was McKenna Clark in the 100-yard freestyle at 1:01.97 as well as the 100-yard backstroke with a finish of 1:17.87 to give Wittenberg women a final score of 28 points.

Taking a second-place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle for the men was Quaid O'Brien with a time of 11:17.66 as well as a third-place spot in the 500-yard freestyle. Zach Parkman had the biggest finish of the night with a 2:03.71 finish in the 200-yard IM for a first-place tie. Parkman later came back to take second in the 100-yard backstroke with a finish of 58.41. Mason Steen took a second-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:06.46 to give Wittenberg men a final score of 39.5 points and a second-place finish.

Up Next: The team will return to action on Saturday, January 21st at home. They will take on Hiram for Senior Day.
