DELAWARE, Ohio - The Wittenberg swimming & diving teams sealed a sweep of the Ohio Wesleyan Battling Bishops on Friday night, winning by scores of 125-93 for the men and 137-87 for the women. Numerous swimmers performed well in the meet, including many first place finishes.
For the women, Janna House (St. Thomas, Ontario/Central Elgin Collegiate Institute), Kristin Elber (Brunswick, Ohio/Brunswick), and Adeline Brym (Mansfield, Ohio/Lexington) all won two races apiece to seal the victory. By themselves they accounted for 54 of the team's points.
The men featured a more varied lineup of first-place finishers. Neil Anderson (Lakewood, Ohio/Lakewood), Danny Nicholas (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central), Matt Higbee (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington), and Pat Deering (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Kenston) all pulling home top finishes in the swimming portion of the night, capped by the first place diving finish of Matt Erenpreiss (Columbus, Ohio/Centennial).
The outing provided a good glimpse of the depth of the Wittenberg teams this year, with many strong finishes showing promise for the remainder of the conference schedule. The Tigers next travel home to Springfield for a Saturday matchup against DePauw.
