The Wittenberg University men's golf team turned in one of its best seasons in recent memory in 2003-04. Based on tournament finishes, the Tigers defeated nearly 75 percent of the teams they competed against, and they finished fourth in the brutal North Coast Athletic Conference.

Another banner spring sports season has reaped rich rewards for 43 Wittenberg University athletes who were selected to All-North Coast Athletic Conference teams over the last two weeks.

The Wittenberg men's golf team put the wraps on a solid 2004 season with a fourth-place finish at the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament, which was hosted by Ohio Wesleyan at Dornoch Golf Club.

The Wittenberg men's and women's golf teams are closing the 2003-04 season strong. The women concluded the campaign with a seventh-place finish at Baldwin-Wallace last week, while the men posted one of their best finishes of the season with a fourth at Ohio Wesleyan's Strimer Invitational.

CLEVELAND - Allegheny's Ben Rathfon and Ohio Wesleyan's Chad Poling head an impressive list of standouts named to the North Coast Athletic Conference's 20th Anniversary golf team. Rathfon and Poling are the only two members of the squad still actively competing.

The Wittenberg men's and women's golf teams continue to play well as the season winds to a close. Both have shown marked improvement during the season, with their best showings to date coming last week.

The Wittenberg men's and women's golf teams got off to solid starts to the 2004 spring season last weekend. The men finished seventh in the loaded 13-team field at the Muskingum Spring Invitational and the women were fifth in a strong five-team Wilmington Spring Invitational field.

The Wittenberg University men's golf team may be poised for a breakthrough in the rugged North Coast Athletic Conference. With a 10-man roster stocked with talent and experience, thanks in part to the return of five letterwinners and the addition of four standout freshmen, the Tigers are shooting for their first NCAA Division III Tournament berth since 1991.

Wittenberg University Director of Athletics and Recreation Garnett Purnell has never been one to back away from a challenge.

The fall season is coming to a close for the Wittenberg men's and women's golf teams. The men wrapped things up with a sixth-place finish in the loaded Otterbein Fall Invitational on Oct. 6, while the women recorded their first intercollegiate win at the Denison Fall Invitational last weekend and finish off the fall campaign with a tournament at Otterbein on Sunday.

The Wittenberg men's and women's golf teams have both been extremely active this fall, and the results are encouraging.
