Tigers Win Last Game of the Regular Season

Gambier, OH-The Wittenberg Field Hockey team traveled to Gambier, Ohio to take on the Kenyon Owls for their last game of the season. The Tigers were able to squeak out a 3-2 win to close it out. 

Kenyon scored the first goal of the game only a minute in, but the Tigers answered with a penalty stroke by Emmy Kuijten that found the back of the net. Maddy Krasnow continued the scoring five minutes into the second quarter, scoring off an assist from Meike Kwaaitaal. 

To start the third quarter, the Tigers scored again when Lucy Ripepi scored another goal on a Katie Webber assist. In the fourth, Kenyon scored one more time for the final score to be 3-2 in Wittenberg's favor. 

Leaders-Devyn Groves led the Tigers in shots with 12, eight of which were on goal and both goalies who played, Caitlin Archdeacon and Izzy Thompson, who both played a half, saved one shot each. 

Notables-Wittenberg led Kenyon in shots 30-10 and also had more penalty corners, nine to six. The Tigers also had 20 shots on goal to Kenyon's two.
