Ripepi Nets Double Overtime Goal for Tiger Victory

Lexington, KY- Wittenberg headed south to Lexington to compete against the Pioneers of Transylvania University. The Tigers saw 74 minutes of play including two overtimes. After toughing out into the final minutes, Wittenberg scored in double overtime to claim a 2-1 victory and improve to a 5-4 record on the season.

The Red & White were able to get on the board first in the second quarter with Fiona Isbell getting through Pioneer defense unassisted. The goal marks Isbell's first collegiate goal. The Tigers held the lead into the fourth quarter where the Pioneers were able to tie the game and head into overtime. The score remained 1-1 until Lucy Ripepi was able to score in the 73rd minute of play unassisted to end the game. Wittenberg led in shots on the day with 15 and were able to draw six penalty corners.

NCAC Leaders: Caroline Cairns sits at number nine in the NCAC for shots taken with a total of 23 followed by Regan Mazzulli at number ten with 23. Cairns is also number ten for shots on goal with 16. Katie Webber sits in the top ten for goals in the NCAC at number seven with five on the season. After an overtime goal against DePauw, Mazzulli lands in the top 10 for game-winning goals. Webber and Caroline Ford also land in the top ten for game winning goals with one a piece. Webber and Mazzulli land in the top ten for points on the year at number three and six. Lastly for Wittenberg, Caitlin Archdeacon sits at number one for save percentage in the conference with .863 and number three for saves with 44 on the season.
