
Wittenberg field hockey is thrilled to add seven incoming freshmen as announced by Tiger Head Coach Bronwen Gainsford.
Joining the Tiger line-up this fall will be; Abi Cone, Taylor Crites, Devyn Groves, Fiona Isbell, Morgan Myers, Emily Owens and Jada Sharp.
"I am excited to announce our incoming class for the Fall of 2022," Gainsford said, "The incoming class brings a wealth of hockey experience and high energy that will help add depth to our program."
#19 Abi Cone | University Liggett School | Fer De Lance
Cone is a defender from Grosse Point, Michigan where she was a 4-year letter winner, senior team captain, 2021 Catholic League Second Team Member, 2018 and 2020 Division 2 State Champion and 2020 Catholic League Champion. Cone was also a 4-year letter winner for lacrosse, senior team captain, 1019 Catholic League Second Team Member and 2019 and 2021 Catholic League Champion.
#5 Taylor Crites | Ballard High School| Bluegrass
Crites is a midfielder from Louisville, Kentucky. Crites was a member of the field hockey team where they were 2021 Region 1 Champions.
#16 Devyn Groves | Oldham County Senior High School | Bluegrass
Groves is a forward from La Grange, Kentucky. Groves played field hockey and soccer throughout her high school career. Academically, Groves won the Honors Award.
#3 Fiona Isbell | Bishop Watterson High School | Field Hockey Life
Isbell is a defender from Columbus, Ohio. Isbell played field hockey all four years for Watterson. Isbell was a 2020 & 2022 State Champion, 2019 Second- Team All-League, 2020 Honorable Mention All-League 2021 First Team All-League, 2021 All Ohio Top 15 Member, 2021 Best Defensive Player and won Third Year Varsity Award. Academically, Isbell won the 2021 Scholar Athlete Award.
# 8 Morgan Myers | West York Area High School | Nook Field Hockey Club
Myers is a forward from York, Pennsylvania. Myers was a 4-year member of her field hockey team along with being an honor roll student.
#4 Emily Owens | Stow-Munroe Falls High School | Cleveland Field Hockey Club
Owens is a midfielder from Stow, Ohio. Owens was a 4-year letter winner in field hockey and lacrosse, 2019 Suburban League Honorable Mention, 2021 Northeast Ohio Field Hockey Second Team All-League, 2-21 Akron Beacon Journal High School Field Hockey Player to Watch, 2022 Most Valuable Midfielder, 2021 & 2022 Suburban League Scholar Athlete (field hockey & lacrosse) and 2022 Greater Akron High School Sports Awards Field Hockey Player of the Year Nominee. Owens is also a National Honor Society Member, Honor Roll Member and Honors Diploma.
#26 Jada Sharp | Lancaster High School | Field Hockey Life
Sharp is a forward from Lancaster, Ohio. Sharp was a 4-year letter winner in field hockey and 2021 All League Honorable Mention. Sharp also was a member of the softball team and indoor track & field team. Academically Sharp received the All Ohio Academic Award, received high honor roll and honor roll.
