Senior Day Success

Springfield, OH- The Wittenberg Tigers celebrated Kayla Cull and Joan Matthews in their Senior Day against Oberlin. The Pennsylvania native, Cull, is studying Data Science while fellow senior and Kentucky native, Matthews, is finishing her degree in Education. The Tigers faced off with the 3-8 Oberlin Yeowomen in a conference match-up on Edwards-Maurer Field.

The Tigers controlled the ball in the first quarter and were able to start their momentum with a goal from Caroline Ford in the last seconds before the second quarter. Alison Ormsby continued to push the pace with two back to back goals in the beginning of the second quarter, putting the Tigers up 3-0. Josephine Wakim was able to add to the Tigers fuel with her second goal of the season at 27:04. The Tigers led in shots, shots on goal, and penalty corners for the first half.

Megan Niswonger started the third quarter with a goal at 30:00 while Kayla Cull ended the third quarter with another goal for the Tigers and her second of the season. Tiger defense kept the Yeowomen to zero shots and a shut out for Regan Mazzulli who stepped into goal for Wittenberg. The Tigers defeated Oberlin with a score of 6-0.

Up Next: Wittenberg will be back in action on Wednesday, October 23rd on Edwards-Maurer Field. They will take on DePauw at 7 PM.
