
Springfield, Ohio – The Wittenberg field hockey team sent off four seniors with a 2-1 win over NCAC rival Wooster from Edwards-Maurer Field on Saturday afternoon. The Senior Day celebration would span from start to finish, as the pregame introduction took a look back on all the memories made with Emily Darnell, Blaine Donnelly, Isabella Wagner, and Allie Purvis. The excitement continued to the final minutes of action as the Tigers would come back to defeat the Scots in the final minutes of the game.
Game Breakdown
Wittenberg would make a second-half comeback after Wooster put the opening score on the board in the 32nd minute of action. Wagner would bring the game back to even in the 50th minute, putting away the unassisted goal into the back of the Wooster cage. As the clock wound down with only four minutes remaining, Wagner would find Flora Van den Borne to give the Tigers the 2-1 advantage.

Wooster would lead the shot total on the day, as the Tigers would prove more efficient with two goals on 12 shots. The Fighting Scots would hold a narrow advantage in the penalty corner category at 16-11. Wittenberg would get more penalty corner opportunities in the second half, leading the count 5-4. As Wooster took 15 shots on goal in the game, Purvis would record 14 saves for the Tigers in her final game in the cage for the Tigers on the home field.
