Channa Visseren Claims Synapse Sports Rookie Team Honors

Springfield, Ohio – Synapse Sports has released postseason honors for the 2017 collegiate field hockey season.

Amongst the award winners on the Rookie team was Wittenberg MF/D Channa Visseren. Joining the Tigers all the way from Utrecht, Netherlands, Visseren helped Wittenberg compile an overall record of 14-6 and 10-4 in North Coast Athletic Conference play.

Visseren tallied 35 points in all 20 starts this season wearing the red and white. Scoring 15 goals with five assists, for a .242 shooting percentage with five game-winners on the season. This is the third major award for Visseren this season, collecting All-NCAC Second Team honors and NHFCA Second Team All-Region.

Making their first appearance in the NCAC Championship game against Denison, falling to the Big Red on the road 2-1. This is the winningest season the Tigers have had since their 2010 NCAC Tournament Championship appearance, finishing 15-4 and 11-1.

Visseren is joined by four other competing members of the NCAC on this list.
