Springfield, Ohio – Wittenberg University field hockey standouts Paige Vanerstrom (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) and Beth Warning (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) have earned 2013 All-Great Lakes Region honors from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA).

Vanerstrom, a sophomore midfielder, and Warning, a junior attack, were both second-team All-Great Lakes Region selections. It was the first all-region selection for either player. Both Tiger standouts will now be considered for NFHCA All-America honors, which will be announced later this month.

Warning led the Tigers in scoring in 2013, with team-highs of 10 goals, five assists and 25 total points. In addition to the all-region honor, Warning has earned postseason honors from the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) each of the last two years as well, picking up honorable mention in 2012 and second team in 2013.

Vanerstrom ranked second on the team in scoring, contributing eight goals and two assists for a total of 18 points during the 2013 season. She picked up the first All-NCAC award of her collegiate career following the campaign, earning a spot on the second team.

Wittenberg posted records of 8-11 overall and 6-8 in the NCAC in 2013, good for fifth place in the final regular season standings. The Tigers placed a total of five players on the All-NCAC honor roll after the season.
