Coach Richardson coached four seasons with the Wittenberg Baseball program. He serves primarily as the team’s outfield coach. His outfielders are coming off back-to-back seasons of fielding .983 which is an outstanding clip for that position group. They played a significant role in the record-breaking defensive season the team had with a .971 fielding percentage in 2021.
Coach Richardson is Wittenberg University alumni (‘07) where he played basketball for 1 year, baseball for 4 years, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology.
Before joining the Wittenberg staff in 2019, Richardson coached 10 years at the high school level, including six years as the assistant coach at West Liberty Salem High School. He helped them capture one Ohio Heritage Conference Championship, two sectional titles and a district title. After that he moved on to become the pitching coach at Triad High School for four years where he helped lead them to an Ohio Heritage Conference Championship, a sectional, district and a regional title, before finishing as the Division 4 State of Ohio Runner-Up. During the run, Coach Richardson’s pitching staff allowed just six total runs during the entire tournament.
Coach Richardson currently lives in Urbana, OH with his wife Jennifer and two daughters Zoey and Emma.
