The Wittenberg baseball coaching staff welcomed Jordan Shumaker prior to the 2014 season. He will bring his extensive experience to bear in working with the Tigers’ infielders.

Shumaker joins the Tiger staff after three seasons as the head coach at Northwestern High School in Springfield, Ohio, where he led the Warriors to three consecutive seasons of 14 or more wins and two second-place finishes in the Central Buckeye Conference’s Mad River Division. In 2012, the Warriors secured a sectional championship and finished as district runners-up.

Shumaker’s experience also includes time as an assistant in the collegiate ranks at his alma mater, Cedarville University. After graduating in 2009 with a degree in integrated social studies and education, he signed on for one season as the recruiting coordinator and director of the Cedarville youth baseball camps. As a student-athlete, he led the team to NCCAA regional championships in 2008 and 2009 and the NCCAA World Series in 2009.
